Making Something Out of Nothing

‘God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody…’ (Romans 4: 17)

I am a nobody counting on God to make something out of me.  This passage goes on to talk about how Abraham was faithful, and so God said, ‘You’re going to have a big family, Abraham.’  I’m not going to share exactly what God has said to me, but I think you can get the jist – music, God, worship, people.

I need to be honest with you – this record is a humbling experience.  These are prayers I’ve put down on pages and added some music to, and now I’m sharing it.  This is a financial investment that 6 of us have gone in on, and a lot of people say – ‘what??’  This is an investment of time and energy and effort, that very well could only reach 100 listeners. It’s raw and I’m definitely letting you inside my mind and my heart. So, myself and my team are going out on a limb because this is what we feel led to do.

I know we all have areas where we’re relying on our faith. I know I have a ton. And that can be a heavy feeling sometimes…

My prayer is that this record, these songs, will somehow, in some way, be something that you, the listener, will be able to connect with, that you would be driving down the road, listening to these songs and have a Holy encounter with God.  A lot of people would say I’m being arrogant to assume that God would use ‘my’ music, or that I shouldn’t be so direct. I’ve prayed, I’ve followed, and now I’m waiting on the Lord.

I invite you guys to join with us as we wait. That somehow, God would have his will with our lives. Not just this record, but our lives – our churches, our homes, our schools, our jobs, our hearts, and yes, Origins CD.
