I thought I’d share my current Top 5 Albums I’m listening to. They are not in any particular order, you’re lucky to have me narrow it down to only five records, ha. Here you go…
1.) Dave Barnes – ‘Brother, Bring the Sun’
Yes. It’s an oldie, but man alive, it’s a goodie. I listen to this record at least three times a week. Love me some Dave Barnes.
2.) John Mark McMillan – ‘The Medicine’
Everything John Mark McMillan puts out is a classic, but I especially love ‘Carbon Ribs,’ ‘Skeleton Bones,’ ‘My Only,’ & ‘Death In His Grave.’ Let’s get real. This guy is brilliant.
3.) Sara Bareilles - ‘Kaleidoscope Heart’
This is a brand new record, but I can’t lay it down. I’m not sure if I’ll feel the same way in a month, but I feel like this could turn into another weekly visit for me, a lot like ‘Brother, Bring the Sun.’
4.) Matt Maher - ‘Alive Again’
This guy is an inspiration to us all. He’s got a raw, unique sound that is quite contagious. If you’re in any way involved with leading worship in your local ministry, you need to start diving into ‘Alive Again,’ hands down. There is no question about it.
5.) The Swell Season – ‘Strict Joy’
I love this duet. They’re sound is definitely their own. When I want to listen to something different than status quo, they’re one of my first go-to artists.
Love creativity, passion, and innovation. - jt
I’m really looking forward to being a part of a great night of music and worship as I open up for these guys! We’ll be getting lots of pics and vids to share with everyone. I’m really excited about filling in for Matt Maher, or at least attempting to. I’ve got some big shoes to fill!
Hope everyone can come out! Buy tickets here.
Hey everybody. I just wanted to let you know what all I’ve got going on this month.
September 10th – mocha joe’s, Anderson University.
This is my first time playing on campus. I’ve always tried to fly ‘under the radar’ on campus to ensure that I don’t become white noise on the AU music scene, but I’m really excited to share Origins w/ the student body! If you’re in the Anderson, IN area, I really hope to see you there tomorrow night!
September 17th – madison park church, Anderson, IN.
I’ll be opening up for two great bands; Tenth Avenue North and Addison Road. This will be a lot of fun, and it just so happens to be on my ‘home court.’ Tickets are $15 and you can buy them here.
September 26th – the avenue, Louisville, KY.
This is a really exciting church plant around the U of L area in Louisville. A friend of mine, Ben Hardman, is planting the church and I’m really excited about working with him. Please keep this date in your prayers, that God’s spirit would be so active in our hearts, and that we’d be compelled to do something.
